The owners (Jemsek/Hinckley Family) and staff at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club were honored Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with an Illinois Senate Resolution congratulating the public facility on its 100th anniversary in business. Illinois State Senator Seth Lewis (24th District) sponsored the award and read the resolution to a gathering of St. Andrews staff and local leaders including Dave Sabathne (CEO and President of the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce) and Omar Espinosa (head of the West Chicago Rotary Club and VP/Market Manager of Republic Bank). In attendance was longtime St. Andrews employee Butch Hansen, who started as a caddy in 1950 and now works seasonally as a starter. Jerry Hinckley (President & son of Owner Marianne (Jemsek) Hinckley of St. Andrews) along with his cousins Katherine and Joe T. Jemsek accepted the award on behalf of past family members and employees who have worked hard over the last century to provide a fun and welcoming facility for public golfers. Jerry Hinckley stated, “As Illinois’ oldest continuously family owned and operated golf course, St. Andrews is
blessed to have had committed family, staff, customers, and support from many community leaders, these many years. The family looks forward to continuing to serve the region for decades to come.” Hinckley continued, “Our family is humbled by this honor, and we would like to thank Senator Lewis and the entire Illinois Senate that supported this recognition”.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago was founded in 1926 by family patriarch Frank Hough and has continued as a fifth-generation family operation bringing private club quality golf to the public.
